Can different document readers see different parts of a docuement.

Im creating a user manual for a complex database. As there are many users
each of whom will really only need to read different parts of the manual, I
would like each viewer to click on a button (related to their role) and then
they are presented with the relevent parts of the manual, perhaps the rest
being greyed out or not displayed. If anyone else has other ideas Im open to
suggestions. I am trying to aviod having different versions of the document
for different users as the document is liable to change and is already 40
pages long, and will probably reach 70 odd pages. Thank you in anticipation
of a reply. Tim

Word is not a good choice for this kind of automation. There's no built-in
mechanism, and adding macro code to show/hide parts of a document adds
another level of complexity without actually delivering much convenience.
Given that your document is relatively short, why worry about it? (I'm used
to database documentation that runs to 1000s of pages...)

If you need a better delivery method, use Word to *create* your document,
then use another app to deliver it: eg PDF with an expanding TOC, or any of
a myriad other solutions.
