Can Ent 2004 "remember" location of new (compose) msg window?

I think the answer is ³No.² So I¹ve already posted this as a suggestion.

Thought it was worth asking again, though, and maybe getting some support
for the feature request....

Unlike many other programs, Entourage seems to like opening new message
windows (generated by Cmd-n) on the absolute left edge of my monitor. Since
I have a 21 incher (which is rapidly becoming the norm for business I
think), it means I crane my neck or move it to a comfortable position (which
is what I do).

Can¹t E 2004 remember where the last ³compose² window was and open a new one
in that position? I have not noticed this annoyance before, so I think Word
does that.

Thanks.

It's because you can open many message windows at a time, not just one.
Entourage is set to "cascade" them carefully exposing just their title bars
neatly nesting them in. If you ever opened 50-100 messages at once in their
own windows you'd really see the benefit. I guess it's true that this
needn't apply to new draft windows, though.

Paul -

Thanks for responding. [minor rant alert]

I don¹t know whether you¹re serious or not, so I¹ll go with it... If you are
describing known MS thinking, I have real problems with it.

Why on earth would I want to have 50 100 message windows open on my
desktop, and why would anyone program for that extremely odd circumstance?

I¹ve been using email and threaded messages (from CompuServe in the old old
days to web boards and newsgroups) for many years, and I doubt I have ever
had more than three or four message windows open at once. I would guess that
having more than one open at once may happen three times a year.

Besides, if they want things to cascade, why not cascade from the center to
the sides? They have ensured that the only window that will be correctly
positioned horizontally is maybe window #35, and that one is going to be way
far down vertically.

Hmmmm... Am I beating this to death? No, that happened about 10 lines above.
Sorry for the rant. I just had fun trying to imagine all them winders.

Now that I¹ve run on for pages.... Is there a reason you have so many
windows open?

Come to think of it though, I don¹t want any message windows to open way
over there. If I want to edit a message, I still want it screen center.

Perhaps this makes my position on the subject known? :)

Best,

- Bill
