Can Entourage lose all its data and reinstall itself?

Hi,
I have someone in the office who was not using their computer, it went to
sleep, she couldn¹t wake it up from the bluetooth mouse or keyboard and
rebooted it (PowerMac with 10.3.9 installed). When it rebooted and she
opened Entourage 2004, all she saw was the welcoming email you get when you
first install. It was as if Entourage had been reinstalled. All contacts
all mail, everything was gone. Running a Rebuild the Database obviously
brought no result.

I wasn¹t there and in 4 years of using Entourage, even though I have had
corrupt databases on occasion, I have never seen anything like this. Anyone
know of this or can offer an explanation of perhaps something else that
happened? Could Entourage have been in the middle of a network operation
and because a forced boot happened, everything was lost and it just created
a new identity when it was opened again?

thanks,
Mike

Under the 'Entourage' menu, choose 'Switch Identity...'. You should see your
old identity there.
