Can I have multiple PST files open inEntorage and I can in Outlook?

On my PC during the year I archive monthly to a PST file. Each year I start a new PST file. If I need to look back on an email I open one or a series of the PST files.

Can I archive to a PST with Entorage and can I open multiple PST files?
Or is there another way of accomplishing the same objectives (archive and read old mails)?

Entourage doesn't provide direct support for PST files, as this is a Windows
Outlook file format (actually "Windows Messaging" if you go back far enough
:) ).

Although Entourage won't be able to read your PST files directly, there are
tools and methods available to import PST files into Entourage. You can
find some more info at
http://blog.entourage.mvps.org/2007/08/importing_from_outlook_for_win.html

In terms of archiving your e-mail to an offline store, Entourage provides a
couple of ways to do this... You can move the messages from your Exchange
folders into your "On My Computer" store, which will remove them from the
Exchange server but leave them in your main Entourage store.

If the goal is to keep a fairly compact Entourage database, you can also
export these items to an archive file instead, which is similar in concept
to a PST file, however it's not as flexible in terms of the ability to just
open and attach to it -- it's more of an offline export of your mail, and I
believe the only way to actually read the content is to re-import it.

Another possibility if you wanted the best of both worlds -- the ability to
keep your database small but also have easy access to your archived items --
would be to export them from your main Entourage database/identity, and then
create a separate "offline" Entourage identity and re-import your archive
items into that database. You could then switch to that identity (database)
when you wanted to look at your historical data.
