Can I make a folder undeleteable?

Hi All,
After using Outlook for years, I've gotten in the habit of just leaving
the Folder List open, and navigating the various folders from there. I have
quite a few folders, and buttons are just too cumbersome.

I use rules to send some e-mails to my 'Junk E-mail' folder. The
problem is that sometimes I have the focus in the folder list pane when I
delete an e-mail from that folder, and the folder disappears.

Okay, to be sure, deleting things so quickly that I don't notice that
before I do it might be a bad thing. Being in the habit of holding down the
shift key when I delete things might be even worse. The sad fact is that I
do both of these things though, and sometimes lose my 'Junk E-mail' folder.

Is there a way to make this folder delete (idiot) proof?

Nope, because then you would complain that you can't make the program
do what you want it to do. The program obeyed your command. The
deleted folder will be under the Deleted Items folder as a result of
those fat-finger moments. Outlook pops up a safety prompt asking if
you want to delete the folder. How many prompts do you need? You are
doing backups, right, if your files really are important, right?

upgrade. :) in later versions focus is moved to the message when a folder is
selected.

Sigh. They seem to be everywhere.
Oh, the urge to argue...
One for the kill file.

Thanks, Diane. I'll look into that.

Anytime one does a <shift delete> in Windows, a warning comes up. It's
a consistent response, but I've gotten so jaded over the years that I blow
past them without looking. As much as I might like one, I'm not surprised
that there is no "Super Warning" option for folders. Having the focus stay
on messages would be the perfect solution for me.

Thanks, Max

Then no. In later versions of Outlook you cannot delete the Junk E-mail
folder as it is a required folder. All manually created folders can still be
deleted.

Thanks for the info, Robert. Oh well. Maybe I'll just have to learn self
control for now. :)
