Can I remove embedded sound files from my PowerPoint presentation

I'm using .wav files as background music for my PowerPoint presentation, but
I've had to edit them several times to fit the presentation correctly. Each
time I remove the old file and add the new one, the old file isn't really
deleting, so my file keeps growing. My 30MB presentation is now 270MB. The
only way I have to fix it is to start a new presentation and move all the
slides over.

Go to the Tools menu and choose Options. Click on the Save tab and be sure
that Allow Fast Saves is unchecked. With Fast Saves turned off, when I
delete an embedded sound and save, the file size goes down.
