Can I remove individuals from Contacts but keep them elsewhere?

I'm up to about 900 contacts in my Outlook Contracts. I'd like to have access
to all of them if I need them, but would like to greatly reduce the number in
my active Outlook Contacts file. Is there a way to create a folder of
Contacts to move seldom used cards into so that I can still access them but
they will no longer be in my master active file?

You could also place them in an entirely separate data file if you want
instead of a separate folder, but there seems little reason to since 900
Contacts occupies very little space.
