Can I SYNC my Exchange contact list with my 'on this computer'contact list?

Hi

I have my Exchange email account set as default which works fine except for
one small but for me big issue.

My Address Book ON THIS COMPUTER is now empty but in an ideal world I want
this to be an exact copy of the address book on my Exchange server.

I Sync the Apple Address Book and Entourage and now both are empty, not what
I want?

Does anyone know how to do this, is there an Applescript that will do it?

Cheers.

Do you really need to have an On My Computer address book alongside
the Exchange one?

If you set the Exchange account as the default e-mail account, then
the Exchange address book and calendar will be the ones to sync with
the System Address Book and iCal.

Why? Just leave "On This Computer" closed and ignore it.

I wish this was true.

Unfortunately iSync is syncing with the now empty 'on this computer' address
book with Apple Address Book not the Exchange version!!!!!!!

Okay, so as a couple of people had indicated it SHOULD work I went back to
the Preferences.

Now I have two Address Books it gives me the option on which one to Sync.

I had not thought to check this, silly me.

Thanks for all your help.

Now if ONLY I could get the corporate address book working with Entourage I
would be all set.)

Of course. iSync is synching with the Truth database. The Truth
Database is the central repository where the System stores the Address
Book and iCal data. If Entourage is set to sync to it (enabled to sync
through Sync Services), but the default account is either POP or IMAP,
then it will use the On My Computer address book and calendar to sync.
Since they are empty on your Mac, iSync syncs an empty address book
and calendar.
You need to make sure that the Exchange account is the default one.
This will let Entourage sync the Exchange address book and calendar
instead (the one that have all the data) and the problem should be
solved.

Well does your corporate server have LDAP enabled?? That's what you
need to get this to work. You can enter the LDAP parameters in the
Exchange account to get the possibility to search the global address
list for your Corporate server. Ask the network administrator. He
should be able to provide you with the information you need.
