Can I Transfer a document from Word to Notepad

Open the document in Word and open Notepad. In Word, select
all (Ctrl+A), copy (Ctrl+C), place your curser in Notepad
and paste (Ctrl+V)

File > save as > save as type > plain text (*.txt)
