Can not import "message" file back into Entourage 2001

I got an error message and it closed. I opened Entourage
2001 and all my messages are gone. Microsoft website
suggested to rebuild database by doing a typical and if
that did not work an advance rebuild. This did not
work. I cannot import the "message" file(data file for
Entourage mail) from
MacIntosh HD:Documents:Microsoft User Data:Office 2001
Identities:Main Identity folder back into the Entourage
2001. I see the message file but when I open Entourage
it is a blank identity. How do I get back my old message
that I lost? Please Help!!!
