Mackan

Version of Publisher 2007: 12.0.6425.1000 part of Office Enterprise2007 (Home
use program)

Working on a book with 37 pages that worked OK before some additions. size
of file is 9 MB with approx. 70 pics linked.

Get the msgbox: "A problem has occured with the file you are trying to
open....."
"Click OK if you want to open"
Clicking OK another msgbox appears "Can not open file"

Did change the registry according to KB below
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928890/en-us

Hi Mary and thanks
I have tried everything in the KB article and it still does not work. I have
never experienced such instable SW, especially not from MS. I thought it was
business SW and not toy SW by now...:-(

Do you have any other tips..? I have also installed the 972566 hotfix. Still
no luck

Another poster had the same problem. I was sent the file, I was able to open
the file in Publisher 2003, re-saved and sent it back. All was well. To this
day I don't know the what the problem was. With another poster I failed.
If you want to send me the file, I will give it a go.

MS updates for November added Security Updates including KB969693 and
KB974234. I had the same trouble and removed the updates -- the trouble went
away. NOTE: I'm not sure if I removed one more update relating to Office
2007; in case just keep removing until the problem goes away.
