Can PowerPoint import a database and format text onto slides?

I use PowerPoint to display words to songs at our church. I would like to
store the words in a database then be able to quickly import them into
PowerPoint (eliminating lots a cut and paste operations). I know there are
other applications created for specifically this function, but it seems like
PowerPoint should be able to do it also. Any ideas?
