Email Client: imap

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. Just as in posted situation from I think 3/31/09, all was fine for awhile. Today, could neither send nor receive. tried different account settings, and now the receive works, but not the send. I read the mentioned posting, but changing to the 587 does not make a difference. I am using dslextreme as an ISP and email, which is a gmail email account. Unlike in the posting, I am not using mobileme.
thanks,

When Entourage works for a while but then suddenly stops working and
you've changed nothing, then Entourage usually isn't the problem. You
may have hit a network hiccup or something may have happened to your
Gmail account, which means you need to log in via a web browser and make
sure everything works there.

Port 587 is only for sending mail. It has nothing to do with receiving.

I have instructions for adding a Gmail account to Entourage and plenty
of reader comments here:

"Connect Entourage 2004 to Gmail’s IMAP service"

or <http://tinyurl.com/yutcdg>

"Create Gmail labels and make Entourage folders"
<http://blog.entourage.mvps.org/2007/11/create_gmail_labels_and_make_entourage_folders.html>
or <http://tinyurl.com/5w9km8>

Hope this helps!
