Cancelling the entry of an incomplete contact in Entourage 2008

Is there any way to cancel the entry of a contact in Entourage 2008?
Let's say I am entering "Joe Smith" but decide after typing "Joe" that
I don't want to enter Joe Smith's full information. I can't find any
"cancel" option. If I close the contact entry window, the incomplete
information shows up as a new contact, e.g. there will be a new
contact just with "Joe."

Simply delete it by clicking on the trash icon.

Thanks Diane. So there's no way to cancel the contact in the Create
Contact window while creation of the contact is in progress? Clicking
the red dot in the upper left corner simply closes the window. (This
serves to save the contact automatically once information is entered,
as opposed to choosing a "Save" option. I find this a bit
counterintuitive given normal application behavior within Mac OS X.)

Clicking the red close button should prompt you to Save, Don't Save or
Cancel. If you don't see this window, be sure you have checked in
Preferences --> Notification --> Reset Confirmation Dialogs.

You can also use Command-W to close the window and Command-S to save. If you
get the confirm window, you can hit the "D" key to dismiss or Esc to cancel.

I see what happened now that I reset that. I must have checked the
"Always save changes without asking" box at some point. Thanks for the
fix Diane.
