Cannot access online help from Excel 2003

hello, i click on help, enter "any words" and press enter and we just sit
there watching the little serarching thingy run. tried setting nis 2005,
tried looking for some settings, help works in all other office 2003
programs. using xp pro. thanks! ted s.
