If that's really all you're going to give us to go on, then don't
expect much help.

Some specific information about what you've tried and what results
you've obtained would help us help you.

Thanks, for being patient with me. It is the first time setting-up server.

This is what we have done so far....

We cannot make ANY connection from Entourage to the Exchange Server. Under
the Account set-up, we entered all information that works on the Windows
machine. But, when we restart Entourage we get "server does not have a valid
root certificate." If we by-pass the error it gives us a credentials error:
"bad user/password."
Thanks, HB

Ah ok. I don't have any direct experience with this, since my
organization (thankfully) doesn't require root certificates for basic
Entourage Exchange functionality. Anyhow, take a look at this web page
and see if it helps answer your question:

Bill Smith is one of our exchange specialists. Until he can chime in, take a

Hi Hugh!

You mentioned a root certificate error and that you're "setting up" a
new server for your first time.

Certificates are needed if your server will be connecting to the
Internet and aren't really required for internal use unless you have
high security needs. That means if you have enabled anything like SSL
then you can probably disable that for E-mail services.

Is your server by any chance an SBS server that is also running
Exchange? You might also try posting your question in the SBS Server
group microsoft.public.server.sbs.

Hope this helps!
