Cannot copy Microsoft User Data folder

I need to backup my Entourage email Database file which resides in
user/Documents/Microsoft User Data ... , but cannot because I get an
"error code -36".

I have a problem with my Hard Drive, since Diskwarrior says that a disk
malfunction is affecting it's speed. I want to try to reformat the
drive, but must save my Entourage data to another disk before doing
this. I have not yet attempted to rebuild my disk directory with
Diskwarrior, since I want to explore all options for saving my
Entourage data before I do this.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

I'm sorry to say this but I think you need to forget it. It sounds like
your disk malfunction is physical. If so, the data can't be retrieved,
and reformatting / Diskwarrior won't help. My advice is: back up what
you can and prepare to lose the rest (unless you have previous existing
backups). m.
