Cannot create appointments in Calendar in Outlook 2003

My calendar seems to have frozen where I cannot create any new appointments.
I am not sure if it is co-incidental or not but it happened around the same
time as my Pocket PC was having trouble reconciling several recurring
appointments.

Can anyone suggest how to fix things so that I can create new appointments ?

Have you tried Help->Detect and Repair? Can you successfully sync your PDA?

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

I managed to solve the problem. I changed the options in the activesync for
pocket pc to overwrite any unresolved items with whatever was on the desktop.
That cleared up the unresolved calendar items and seems to have removed
whatever is locking up the new appointment creation. I also rebooted the PC.
