Cannot get New Mail Message window

I just upgraded to Office 2008. I cannot get a new mail message window to open. I click on the NEW button nothing happens, I click and hold for hte drop down menu to select new mail message, and still nothing happens. I can create a new event in Calendar or note or task, but no new mail messages.
Can reply or forward fine.

Am running Leopard and Spam Sieve 2.6.6 with Entourage.

Any thoughts?

A lot depends on how you installed Leopard. Testing in a new User will
quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or if it's your User's folder
that contains the problem. Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in
Accounts. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User
Switching. Test Office there.

There are 3 types of OS installs:

1. Upgrade Mac OS X (the default upgrade method)*
2. Archive and Install
3. Erase and Install

* Just because it's the default doesn't mean it's the best option.
