Cannot modify presentation because of an integrated read-only font error !!!!

Hi,

have created a slide presentation last year.

Now wanted to use some of these slides ( I made myself !) and when I try to
open the presentation, I get an error message stating ( translated from
french)
that slideshow cannot be modified, because containing " incorporated
read-only font !"
Seems this was a greyhound font, and I do not have that font on my PC.
Perhaps did I
have it on the pC I created the presentation on last year. But this one I
don't have anymore.
Niether do I have a greyhound font on my PC. I have looked on my backups of
C:, but none contains that font ( but again my PC is younger than
presentation !)

I cannot even save under another name, nor copy slides from that
presentation to another !
Otherwise the slideshow itself look normal when I inspect and view it.

Any idea of the cause and possible recovery ? It is a quite time-intensive
presentation I made there !
Can I remove references to that "read-only" font ?

TIA

Phil

This is a known issue, and I believe it was fixed just recently with SP-2
for Office 2003.

So I'd try installing that service pack.

Also see Embedding fonts
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00076.htm (the section called WARNING).

If you do install SP-2, can you let us know if it resolves the problem for
you or not? I'd love to confirm that SP-2 fixes it, but I haven't had time
to test it here yet.
