Cannot open adobe attachments to email- a pain

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

Does anyone have a simple fix or steps I can take to open pdfs that are attached to emails I receive on Entourage. They open fine in my old 2003 Outlook program on an antiquated laptop. And folks wonder why people hate microsoft.
