Cannot rebuild Identity Store (disk space error)

Ok, so I came across the database limitation of 4gig for your identity
store file, when I went to rebuild the database (typical rebuild)
holding option while startying Entourage it goes thru 75% of the
files, and then tells me it cant proceed because not enough disk
space.

I have 80gig still let on that partition and drive, plus 600gig more
attached. Has anyone else come across this ??

This sucks!!

First, delete a lot (thousands) of messages so that a rebuild will actually
be smaller than the current size. Then do an Advanced Rebuild, not Typical.
