I have a Windows 2000 server/ SP4 running Termianl Services and have Citrix
Metaframe 1.8 (I have requested they upgrade Citrix) installed.
Back in November 2004, the Citrix server crashed and everyone's Outllok
Icons disappeared. Users have also reported Eproblems with Excel (will sclose
without warning) and Word templates get errors when beong used. I checked the
Event Viewer and there is an "Event ID: 1004" entry for every user who opens
an Office application. Also the Office Assistant keeps asking to be repaired.
I have followed the instructions from several KB articles and Citrix support
website but to no avail.
I have done the following:
* Switched mode buy using change user /install
* Went thru Add/Remove Programs per articles
1. Loaded Office Resources kit with no problems
2. Copied the TermSrvr.mst file to the root of M: (Citrix was loaded and
remapped)
3. Copied Office 2000 CD to other drive
4. have tried following commands:
- D:\Setup.exe TRANSFORMS="c:\Termsrvr.mst" (D;| is the CD-ROM when using CD's
- N:\Office 2000\Setup.exe TRANSFORMS="c:\Termsrvr.mst"
Each time I have tried it seems to start and then I get a dialog box which
says "Some or all of the Office applications will not work ........" and then
another box pops up saying Installation ended prematurely.
I want to run the repair to see if that gets rid of the MsInstaller warnings
which are showing up for every user that opens an Office application and try
and restore the Outlook icons (hopefully fix Excel and Word too).
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for any info.
