Hi,

when I try to send emails, I get an error stating that I might need to verify and rebuild the entourage database.

What;s happening and how do I do this?

Thanks,

This is a strange error for trouble sending emails.

1. If you can receive but not send then you have a bad SMTP configuration
2. If you can send but not receive you have a bad POP or IMAP configuration

You can try re-entering info.
You can delete account and create a new one.
Using copy/paste can result in an extra space being added. Type carefully.
Check your Keychain for corruption.

What version of Entourage are you using? The latest is 12.1.3. You can check
by looking under About Entourage in the Menu bar.

You can create a new Identity and see if sending from a new blank Identity
works. You will need to enter the account info. (make sure to "leave on
server" for this test Identity)

If you decide to rebuild, make a duplicate in the Finder first of your
Identity.

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/your identity
