Cannot send mail in Entourage 2004

I have read all the discussions of this problem and tried most every
suggested solution. I continually get the Error 111--"An operation on
the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may
be too much net traffic." I can receive mail.

The other curious thing about this is that e-mails I send to my
husband, who is on the same network as I am, are the ONLY mails going
through. I'm sure that must be a clue to my problem.

I am able to send mails using Apple Mail, so the problem appears to be
with Entourage. I have rebuilt the Entourage database, checked all my
settings, repaired my Disk Permissions, repaired by KeyChains, updated
my software....I'm out of options.

I considered trying to load the tcpflow software, but I am fairly
certain that I will not understand what I am looking at if I get it
running.

What type of account? (POP, IMAP, Exchange)

This is one of the errors not listed on the Error Page:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html>

A Google search for "error 111 The server may be down, overloaded, or there
may be too much net traffic"

Brought up this link that sounds similar to your problem

Try this: Open up a Terminal window. From the command line try:

telnet mail.yourdomain.com 25

If that fails to connect then it is a good sign your ISP is blocking
outgoing port 25, if it works then make sure you have SSL switched off and
make sure it is using your credentials to send emails (note your username
will be your full email address).

Try changing the port on account to 80 or 587.

The tcpflow connection protocol is pretty straight forward. See sample log
here:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/troubleshoot/tcpflow.html>

Another application I ran into recently that does the same thing but has a
different interface.

EavesDrop....Let it capture some stuff then double-click any of the lines of
text in the main window to see more detail.

Let me know what you find so I can document it a fix.
