Cannot Start Outlook due to Express

I just loaded XP onto my laptop and I can not open Outlook. It states that
"Outlook requires Outlook Express 4.01 or greater".

When I try to open Outlook Express it states, "The application was unable to
open Outlook Express message store. You computer may be out of memory or your
disk is full" Which neither is...

I then try to run a DVD and it tells me I must have Internet Explorer 4.01
or greater installed and I have 6.01...

What the heck is going on here??? PLease help me!!!!
