Cannot uninstall Office 2007 Trial - but installed Standard versio

Hi:

On my new laptop, with Vista Preferred, I downloaded the Office 2007 trial.
I then purchased the standard office package and installed it.

I have had particular problems with Outlook - it clashes with other programs
and I get error messages. I would like to do a clean uninstall and reinstall
with my CD.

I have been trying to uninstall Office without success. My add/remove box
says that I have the trial installed (even though I have activated the paid
version). Clicking uninstall does nothing, nor does clicking on change.

I have done a restore system, but cannot access the point where I started
noticing troubles with Outlook.

I did see reference to one solution,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218though it strikes me as uncertain of
success (it acknowledges it does not entirely remove the program, and other
users have reported problems with it), so I hope to get advice before
proceeding.

Thanks,

Richard

You have to remove the trial before installing your paid for version.
Try uninstalling your retail version, use the cd if neccessary.
Then attempt to uninstall trial

This is sniped from another response to a Q on how to completely remove;
--------------------

Open the RTM issues page listed below. You'll find a KB there for the
complete removal of Office 2007 Beta. It works for the released version
too.
Note that the steps don't remove the non-version specific registry keys
in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office

Thanks Patrick:

got to the installer folder. All installers removed except for 2: the MS
Office Standard 2007 itself, plus the activation agent. When I try to remove
Standard, it `works`a lot, then nothing. When I try to remove the activation
agent, it says to go to the source (a temporary app data folder) but the
folder is empty.

Now I cannot open Outlook - it says to reinstall the program.

So what do I do next Do I proceed to step 2 of your fix (source engine), or
try to reinstall the programÉ (and in a weird twist, now my keyboard has
switched to French and my question marks are now accents...)

Thanks,

Richard

Further to my earlier message, I tried reinstalling Office 2007 standard, and
works fine do far, though I am not convinced the problems will go away. I
tried uninstalling the program through add/remove, and now the error message
is "setup could not find any available products to install."

Thoughts on what is next?

Thanks,

Richard
