Cannot use FIND feature

Hazel Greenberg

I am using Entourage 2008 for the first time seriously. I¹ve made sure I
have the latest software. Using Mac OX 10.5.8. In 2004, I used to be able to
just do a normal Find for any folder using Command + F. A box would come up
where I would put in what I wanted to find and where. But when I try to do
this in 2008, the folder that I currently have highlighted loses all its
contents, and all I see is ³There are no items in this folder.² Does anyone
know how to find something in 2008? Surely there¹s a way.

Thanks,
HG

This is by design. You should see a search field just above the empty
area where you can enter your search terms.

Hope this helps!

I may be doing something wrong, but I don¹t find 2008¹s search feature nearly
as good as the search in 2004. In fact, I can hardly find anything at all.
Does it search the text in messages as well as the subject lines?

Yes, but you have to be sure Spotlight is enabled in Entourage Preferences
and that the Microsoft Database daemon is active. This article covers using
Spotlight.
