Hi NG,
When opening an existing doc on a shared network drive and saving it to a
different name on that same drive an error states 'The folder name isn't
accessible...'. This only happens to our Office programs (2000 and 2002)
ofrom Windows XP SP2. And only with existing files.
From this group (yes) I have learned this is caused by the Windows update
KB885250
Removing the update indeed solves the problem but 2 new ones arise:
1 The pc is in danger of remote code execution,
2 Unless you turn off automated updates the fix is immediately downloaded
and ready for (re)install
The quickest way around this is to first pretend to do a local 'save as...'
there is no need to actually do the save, just navigate to the local drive.
Now the original intended 'save as...' will work.
Does anyone know a solution? We have no plans to update to O2003. Also, is
O2003 not affected by the same problem?
