Cannot View HTML email

I cannot view HTML emails. It appears as if I am working offline.
however, from what others have said in this forum, Entourage uses IE
for internet access.
i am using Safari as my default browser, and when I checked IE, it
will not load a web page.
Safari works fine, and I have made sure both HTML preferences were
checked in entourage.
Please help. thanks.

I updated to the latest version of IE (5.3) and replaced preferences
folder. All is OK now.
