Can'nt send attachment via POP

Can't send attachment via POP account using Entourage, but fine with
hotmail account. It hangs. Using OS 10.2.5 I believe, (writing this
via Entourage on OS 9.2.2.) Emails with attachment hang and are never
sent.
Tried:
Rebuilt databases
set up new identity
set up new user account


etc, nothing seems to work, any suggestions?

It's possible your ISP now requires authentication.

You can use TCPflow to monitor traffic to create a log. This would be
helpful in talking to your ISP about the problem.

Once you have installed tcpflow, you can activate it from the terminal. You
will need the administrator password.

For Ethernet port enter: sudo /usr/local/bin/tcpflow -I en0 -c

For PPP port enter: sudo /usr/local/bin/tcpflow -I ppp0 -c

Also note some Comcast users experiencing problems sending attachments found
that problem was with their cable modem. Swapping out the cable modem
resolved the problem.
