Can't browse the GAL

Mark Polzin

After upgrading to SP2 I am able to see a selection call Default Global
Address List (my company) but nothing is showing up. When I select choose
address book my default Exchange address books are there (All Contacts, All
Groups, All Users, etc.). I can search, but I thought the whole point was
being able to browse.

The GAL browsing uses an LDAP control known as Virtual List Views (VLV),
that was added to Windows 2003 Server. Thus, if you are unable to browse,
it's most likely that you are connecting to a Windows 2000 server.

That sounds like the problem. We're running Exchange 2000 and AD under
2000.

Thanks for the help!
