OK, I'm totally confused.
I have a completely unsupportive IT group here at work, who basically
refuses to talk to me about getting my Entourage client to connect to
our brand new Outlook setup. I'm using Tiger (10.4), Entourage 2004.
We're migrating from groupwise to Outlook, and the IT team has chosed
to use Mi8 (mi8.com) as the outsourced provider. They have OWA setup,
because I can access OWA from Safari no problem.
I've tried to connect directly to OWA using webdav from finder (i.e.
just to see if I can login using WebDAV to make sure it's working and
enabled on the server side), and it WORKS FINE. In other words, I can
mount my Exchange acct as a disk in the finder.
However, no matter WHAT settings I try in Entourage, I get a server
response "Login Failure: unknown user name or bad passwrod". Basically
it seems like it's figuring out how to connect to the OWA server
(because I get a dialog requesting my userid and pwd, which I supply,
using the exact same uid and pwd that connects my when I do OWA via
safari, or when I mounted via webdav. But then in a few seconds I get
the "Login Failure" message, and it asks me if I want to try to
re-enter my pwd.
So, how come I can connect via webDav and not connect via Entourage
using the same security settings? Is there something I'm missing?
Any help will be SOOOOOO appreciated.
