Hello,

I've got a couple of Mac running MacOS 10.3 and 10.4 and Office 2004.
And I need help on verifying what's the correct setup for connecting
to an Exchange server is. I've briefly reviewed the steps and all
looks corrrect but....it doesn't work. The error message that I get
is "Unknown Error 16008".

Authentication is checked, LDAP requires SSL, and the Override default
LDAP port is 3268.

http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html#error16008 describes what
the error is,
It basically means that your data is not accessible to Entourage.
The page offers several solutions for that error message.

What you basically need for Excahnge anyway is the http:// address of
your OWA (webmail) page.
Connect through a web browser and copy the link to use it as the link
for the Exchange server in your settings.
Everything but the GAL is accessed through there.

Authentication is checked, LDAP requires SSL, and the Override default
LDAP port is 3268.

That information will be usefull for setting up the GAL: Use the
parameters for your LDAP server.
If the server uses a know certification authority, everything should be
fine. If not, you will probably need to import a certificate in your
keychain (X509 anchors) for proper SSL authentication.

Yeah, I saw that link and it looked sort of wacky. But I guess their
is the possibility that I have some other startup item getting in the
way or the entourage dbase got corrupt during the install.

Webmail does work, I thought maybe that I tried using that address but
I need to try again to verify. We are getting a new certificate on
Monday, so I'm not sure if that will have an effect on the setup
before that timeframe. I'll post my findings and hope for the best

thanks for the help
