Can't connect to exchange server

I have the latest Entourage with Exchange Server support, I have set up the
account information as I had in Outlook. (the password field was left blank,
the sysop thought that passwords weren't required). But Entourage won't
accept any password or a blank password field. Is something incorrectly
configured on the server side to be able to deal with OS X applications?
