Can't copy emails; Can't turn off annoying calendar reminder

G

Good morning

I recently purchased Office 2003. While there are a number of facilities I
find very helpful, there are some things either lacking from previous
versions or damned annoying. One thing lacking is that I am not allowed to
copy an email to whichever folder I wish; the programme seems to allow me
only to move the email. This means that, if I want to keep the content of an
email in a number of separate folders, I have to email it to myself.

A very annoying trait (there may be an answer to it that I have not, as yet,
discovered); when I am using the calendar segment of Outlook as a diary, the
reminder keeps popping up continually, and I have to leave what I am
concentrating on and click it off. I’ve tried changing the control from the
5-minute snooze to a longer (even 2-week) period, but it keeps reverting to 5
minutes. It drives me crazy.

Any advice, or will Microsoft have to make patches?

You can copy your emails. I use the Right-Click and Drag method.
When I Right-Click / Drag the email to the new folder, I am asked
whether I want to Move or Copy the email message. I choose Copy.

As for your reminders in your calendar, it appears that you do not
want to have reminders on your appointments as a general rule. So,
from your Tools menu, select Options. On the Preferences tab, clear
the checkmark from Default Reminder. That way new appointments will
not have a reminder set. However, if you do want a reminder, for a
particular appointment, you can take care of that at the time the
reminder is created.
