Can't copy Microsoft User Data to another computer

My main computer was in storage while I moved, so I was temporarily
using my laptop for email, etc. I now have my main G4 up and running
again and want to go back to using it instead for email.

So, I want to copy my Microsoft User folder from the laptop to the G4,
but it won't let me. It says I don't have sufficient privileges. What
do I do?

Thanks for your help

How are the two computers connected? FireWire Target Mode? Network
connection? SkeakerNet?

If you're using FireWire Target Mode, and the owner of the source and
destination files are the same (e.g. 501), there should be no problem.
If the owner userID are different, you should make the laptop be the
FireWire target and check the "Ignore ownership on this volume" box on
it.

If you're using a network connection, be sure to connect to the remote
machine as the user who owns the space on that machine.

If you're using SneakerNet, check the "Ignore ownership on this volume"
box on the transfer volume.

I copied the files from my laptop onto an external firewire drive and
then put the drive on the G4. I could have used appletalk, but I was
going to move the firewire drive anyway, so...

I did solve my problem. It wouldn't let me replace the Microsoft user
folder, but when I deleted the CONTENTS of the folder on and moved in
the CONTENTS of the one I wanted to replace it with, this worked! The
only thing was that I had to retype in the password for the accounts I
had set up.

Thanks for your help.
