Can't create "new events" in entourage 2008

Entourage 2008 has been working great up until about five minutes ago when I lost the ability to create new events. Every time I click "create new" nothing happens. When I double click on the time of day which I want to create the new event nothing happens. I can not even open up events that are already created in order to look at notes.

Also, still having massive trouble connecting my entourage to gmail.

Help please?

Fixing this may be as simple as relaunching Entourage or restarting your
computer. If that doesn't work, a Database Rebuild might be necessary (see
