can't delete 1 particular email

I am unable to delete an email that is in my deleted items folder that
was sent to me with no header and no subject. I've tried the option
key and delete and various other things to try to get rid of it. It is
keeping my delete rule from working. I have that set to delete
everything over 14 days when I close entourage. When I close
entourage, it usually crashes before it can delete the email. I've
manually deleted all other emails in the deleted items folder then
tried to delete that email with no luck.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am running OSX 10.2.6 on a 17" powerbook.

Turn off the Preview Pane in View menu (or cmd-\). Now try selecting it and
deleting it. Does that work? If not, do an Advanced Rebuild (hold down
Option key at launch and choose Advanced). Then try again, if it's still
there.
