can't delete file in outbox

One of my friends accidently sent a big file :38MB from Outlook 2003. (has
XP operation system installed)
After that, she can't send or receive the emails.
The file now is in the sent section" of the Outbox: 12/16/2005 10:54PM.
And when she shutdown Outlook 2003, the message pop up:

"There are still e-mail messages in your Outbox. Would you like to exit
anyway?"

Then it displays in how many seconds Outlook 2003 will shutdown:

"Existing in .seconds" (displays the number of seconds)

The strang thing is the file also is in outbox and she can't delete it
either.

Any solution? Thanks!

Thanks for the prompt reply.
However I already checked the solution, but it does not apply.
I forgot to mention that after the situation that my friend created with
the Outbox has caused her computer to have an icon in the bottom right-hand
corner saying: "Microsoft is offline", that may be a reason she can't send
out email.
How can she reset the Microsoft online. (her computer has a network with
another computer)

Check the File menu to see if the "Work Offline" option is checked
