Can't delete mail

Greetings:

There appear to be 3 "deleted" mail messages stuck in my "Deleted Items"
file. Any attempt to delete them from this folder results in a "Mail Error.
Can't Complete Action. Not Enough Memory" or similar message, and eventually
crashes/freezes Entourage. Isn't there any way to remove these items from
the folder?

If I reinstall Entourage, won't they just appear again?

Thanks for any help. Using MS Office for OS X, and OS 10.1.5.

Download and install the latest Office X updates, which are 10.1.2, 10.1.4,
and 10.1.5 (10.1.3 is unnecessary). They¹re available from Microsoft.

If that doesn't work, disable the Preview Pane (View -> Preview Pane) and
then attempt to delete the messages. You can re-enable it when you are
done.

If that doesn't work, you probably need to rebuild your database. First, go
to Entourage -> Turn Off Office Notifications. Now, quit Entourage, and
then restart Entourage holding down the Option key. When the Rebuild dialog
box comes up, choose to do a Typical Rebuild. If that doesn't work, you
will probably need to try an Advanced Rebuild.

It sounds like database corruption.

How to rebuild your database:



If you¹re in Entourage X, first go to Entourage -> Turn Off Office
Notifications. Quit Entourage, and then restart Entourage holding down the
Option key. When the Rebuild dialog box comes up, choose to do a Typical
Rebuild.
