Can't Delete Messages

I have two IMAP mail accounts (different domains) and wanted to remove one.
I copied the mail from one to the other in Entourage, then reconfigured my
mail server to forward mail from the account I no longer want to the other
account. This has the effect of deleting all mail in the first account.
Eventually I will get rid of the domain.

The problem I now have is that there are a number of messages from the
forwarded account that exist in Entourage, but not on the server and I can't
delete them. If I try nothing happens. Any suggestions how to get rid of
them?

This sounds like database corruption. Can you drag these messages to the
desktop? I'm suspicious that after a rebuild you will loose these messages.

Yes, I can move them. I'd already tried a DB rebuild, but they were still
there afterwards.
