can't Entourage to export email files to Txt

Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

I'm trying to follow the directions but my computer isn't matching up. They say go to FILE and then EXPORT - but mine says EXPORT CONTACTS. Then it say to go to the Export Assistant can click Contacts to list. I can't find an "Export Assistant" where is this option? can anyone help???

thanks guys but still totally lost. I'm in Entourage when selecting file.. I think as it is version x I am unable to get to the export assistant. When i do export to txt onto my desk top I get all the information but it's all over the page - not neatly lined up.

If you open the file in Excel it should look correct.

What you want to do could be done much more easily in either Entourage 2004
or Entourage 2008. Don't try selecting columns and let Entourage export
using the default settings. After you get it into Excel then you will have
to manipulate the data. The Excel newsgroup might be better helping with the
clean up.
