Can't export Distribution List

I need to send a distribution list. The option to save as VCard is
missing. When I insert item the information is missing on the
recipients computer. I could "save as" .rtf, .msg or .oft, but none of
these formats can be imported into another address book, esp not OE.

Only Outlook supports DL's natively. To transfer them to another Outlook
user you have to insert them as Outlook items in a message in RTF format.

I've tried that as I prefer plain text. Size of message in sent items,
16k with individual lists 4k and 9k. Size in inbox (I sent to myself)
5k each list c.350 bytes.

Is there a setting that I have wrong that strips the details of the
list?

More importantly why isn't there a way to export DLs?
