Can't find address

Using Entourage X on Mac OS X.

My question is about using the find (magnifying Glass Icon) from the
Project Gallery Window. When I start a new email I can find a certain
address using the autocomplete function. BUT when I search the
contacts for the same address, nothing shows in the results window.
How is this possible?

Because the autocomplete list (the MRU - Most Recently Used list) also
caches addresses that you have received mail from or sent mail to that are
not in your address book.
