can't find folder in my in-box

I've been an Entourage 2001 user for some time. I just upgraded to
Entourage 2004.

I had a folder in my in-box containing all business-related mail. I
was exploring the delete button, and ended up deleting it.

1) Is there any way to find it?

2) How can I restore it to its former database? I've put a copy of the
former "Messages" document from the old Documents folder into the new
one, but it doesn't change anything.

A deleted folder becomes a subfolder of the Deleted Items folder. You should
be able to drag it right back where it came from.

Yes, Adam, now I know that, but it's not there now. I must had deleted
it somehow (can't imagine how). Plus, it wasn't in Trash. I think my
best bet is to try to move my old Entourage 2002 database in, but I
can't seem to get Entourage 2004 to pick it up. It's a puzzle.

There is no Trash that Entourage uses. I would look for a Deleted Items
folder and click the disclosure triangle to the left of it so that it points
downwards. You might then discover the folder.

That sounds like a good idea if you haven't added any information to your
business folder since you've been in Entourage 2004. If you still have
Entourage 2001 installed on the machine, just launch Entourage 2001, and
drag the business folder to the Desktop. Then, open Entourage 2004, and
drag the business folder onto its Dock icon. That should cause the folder
to be imported.

If you don't have Entourage 2001 on the machine, first, go to Entourage >
Switch Identity, and create a new identity. Close the Assistant that opens.
Then, go to File > Import. Choose to "Import information from a program".
Choose "Microsoft Entourage 2001", and then check only "Messages" in the
next screen. Then, in the next screen, click the "Browse" button. Navigate
to /Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage 2001 Identities/<Your Identity>/
(or /Users/Microsoft User Data/Entourage 2001 Identities/<Your Identity>/ if
you used Entourage 2001 under OS X 10.2 or later). Then wait for the data
to be imported. Drag the business folder to the Desktop. Then, go to File
Switch Identity, and re-launch your normal identity. Drag the business
folder onto its Dock icon. That should cause the folder to be imported.
