Can't find SMTP settings

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: intel
Email Client: Exchange

I am trying to setup Entourage for my exchange account and am having problems. I cannot find anywhere to setup the SMTP settings. According to the instructions there should be a mail tab in the account settings but there isn't. I have also been told from a help desk that I should click on an advanced settings button but I have been through all of the tabs and can't find it anywhere!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Entourage can connect to Exchange via POP, IMAP or as an Exchange client.

Both POP and IMAP will use SMTP but Exchange setups use the one server
address for both sending and receiving.

Have a look at the following for how to set up Entourage as an Exchange
client:

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server at work"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeatwork.html>

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server from Home"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeathome.html>

Hope this helps!

Cheers for the links. I have tried to enter all of the information although do not know what to enter in the 'Public folder service' box and the 'LDAP server' box. I have been on the telephone help line at 1and1 twice now and I try to explain that I need this information but they do not seem to know what I am talking about! I keep getting told to just fill in the information on the 'Account settings' tab, press OK and then I should be able to enter SMTP information. I might try emailing them instead as I am getting no-where on the phone.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge as I am reasonably new to macs and this is my first attempt at setting up an exchange server.

Just making sure: Have you specifically signed up for an Exchange
account with 1and1? Or do you just have a regular E-mail account? If you
haven't specifically signed up for an Exchange account then you need to
set up Entourage for either POP or IMAP.

For the Public folders server you'll use the same address as the
Exchange Server.

You can leave the LDAP server field empty because this will not work
with a hosted Exchange solution unless they specifically provide you and
LDAP server address. Most probably won't support this.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Bill, I'll try entering the address into the Public Folders server field. I think I have already tried this at some point as I have tried many variables, but I'll give it another go.

I thought this was going to be easy!
