Can't find Speech Recognition

E

Eileen

I'm using Office XP and wish to use speech recognition in Word. I know I'm supposed to go to Speech on the Tools Menu, but Speech isn't listed there or on any of the others. What am I missing?

Hi Eileen,

If your PC is 400MHz or faster with a 128MB or more of memory
then you can install the Speech functions in Office XP through
Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel.

Select the Microsoft Office XP listing there and set the
'alternate input' tools to 'run from my PC' status.

Was speech installed? It is not a default installation do you will need to
rerun setup and select the alternate user input.
