Can't hear sound in Embedded Flash

If I cannot hear sound in an Embedded flash piece, how can I troubleshoot?
Right now, the flash piece is saved as flash 8.0, and I have flash 9.0.
Someone mentioned an ActiveX Control... not sure what that means.

Can anyone help?
