Cant open Attachments. "DISK IS FULL MESSAGE"

Hi

This problem just started happening yesterday. I am running OSX 10.2.6
and Entourage 10.0 . All of a sudden, last night I couldn't open any
of the attachments. I got a message saying" Can't open that
attachment, the disk is full" even though we have over 250mb of space
available on the hard drive and the attachment is only like 27k. So
then I tried the "typical rebuild" and got the same message saying
that the disk is full and it can't complete the rebuild. Any tips or
suggestions. Thanks

Since oyu are running OS X it is likely that the system swap files will be
occupying most of that 250mb 'free' space. A reboot should temprarily reduce
their size.

The rebuild will fail because you need up to three times the size of the
database free in the disk in order to do a rebuild. This is because the
first thing the rebuild routine does is create a backup copy of your
database. Then, it copies the records one at a time to a new database,
deleting the original when it is finished. Therefore, just before it
completes you have the original, the backup and the new copy all occupying
disk space.

The only way round this is to delete some stuff from the hard disk and empty
the trash.
